Seeking Resident to Fill Planning Commission Vacancy

The City of Lancaster is looking to fill one Planning Commission seat with a city residents who may live anywhere in the City (i.e., at-large member). The City welcomes applicants from a wide background, although would be beneficial to have experience or a strong interest in the following: local government, zoning, land development, community outreach, community organizing, social work, real estate, engineering, architecture or landscape architecture, the environment, equity and inclusionary practices, and related fields.

The Planning Commission fulfills important duties related to the physical design of the City, including approving all land development plans and recommending changes to key City policies (e.g., zoning, subdivision & land development, and comprehensive plan). Click here to read about the responsibilities of the Planning Commission.

The residents would be appointed at the discretion of the Mayor and approved by City Council to serve a 4-year position or remaining time in a term. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Mayor.
