The Lancaster City Housing Authority (LCHA) was established in 1949. It is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a municipal authority under state law, and it receives funding from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The Lancaster City Housing Authority serves the community by providing affordable housing and community resources to eligible persons, couples and families within the City of Lancaster, PA. LCHA manages 469 public housing units, including 164 for families and 305 for the elderly/disabled, and administers over 1,000 Section 8 Housing Choice Program vouchers to connect with participating private landlords.
